We Have an Announcement to Make....
With the rise of social media - especially Tik Tok in the last few years - mascots have become a central part of many brands/companies/etc. Take the Duolingo owl for example. How else could a company pull off semi-disturbing content if not with an abnormally large, green owl? The Impressions Literary Magazine took this thought to heart. We put our noses to the grindstone, and got to work. Just when it seemed like we were getting nowhere, some inspiration hopped on by. If you revisit our 2022 edition of the magazine, you’ll see a wise old frog peering back at you. This frog, named Melba, was created by a Maryville College alum, Chloe Melton; Melba proved to be the perfect inspiration. Maybe it was staring at her likeness for so many hours while crafting the magazine, or maybe it was the cute cupcakes we served at our launch party, but who really knows? Either way, we knew we struck gold. With this revelation, we began talking and planning. After some hard work and great discussions, we are happy to introduce Impressions Literary Magazine’s very own mascots: Juniper and Fletcher. To help you get to know them, here’s a little statement from them:
Hello Maryville College!
We are Juniper and Fletcher, the newest members of the Impressions
Literary Magazine staff. We are so excited to be a part of your community!
We are a brother and sister duo using our froggy skills of adaptability to help Impressions adapt
to a changing environment. Since the pandemic, a lot of communication and engagement has
become virtual and Impressions making sure they’re catching up. So, we are
going to be the fuzzy fun faces of the magazine!
We are here to help you feel a part of the creative community, even from your phone. We'll be in
Instagram posts and promotional material for Impressions. We love to see what Impressions is
working on, and we want y'all to know what's going on behind the scenes too!
We hope that you, dear readers, will accept us into your community with open arms, and we'll
give y'all a big hug right back! We can't wait to see what great things we're going to do together!
